About ORT SA CAPE ECD Learnership

As the name implies, it is training in Early Childhood Development (ECD). Also, the training provides courses on the learning basics for young children. OCT SA CAPE offers a wide range of ECD learnership. These include short and 18-month

complete classes.

The short courses will help you build the following skills:

  • Numeracy
  • Learning through play
  • Perceptual skills
  • Coding and robotics

Meanwhile, its ECD learnership is available in two levels: level 4 and 5. All training has been accredited by SETA.

While attending the ORT SA CAPE EDC Learnership, you must come once a week for training. Also, you will be supported with online training materials you can learn on your own. Once registered, you can access these resources through the ORT SA CAPE online learning platform.

The training will provide hands-on experiences where you can put what you learn into practice right away.

The Available Courses

The training consists of the following courses:

1. Short Courses

First of all, the institute provides short courses for teachers in various skills. These include classes in:

  • Learning through play
  • Perceptual skills
  • Coding and robotics

Upon completing this course, you will receive a certificate and qualification to teach in schools. In other words, you will become a qualified practitioner to teach in schools.

ORT SA CAPE ECD Learnership Qualification

Are you interested in applying to this training? To qualify as a participant in the ORC SA CAPE ECD Learnership, you must first meet several requirements.

First of all, you are a legal South Africa citizen aged 18 to 30 at the time of application. You do not need to be unemployed to apply to the programme. In fact, this body opens doors of equal opportunity for everyone.

Secondly, you are not being registered for any other learnership during the training period. Third, you are committed to taking the training program on a full-time basis. For now, the institute has not provided part-time ECD training yet.

Then, you commit to being the best ECD practitioner in the country. And, lastly, it’s only natural that you have a passion and enthusiasm for educating and assisting young children. Most importantly, you have no criminal track record.

Make sure to fulfil the requirements before sending your application form. Failure to satisfy the rules may result in rejection.

Timeline of the Application and Learnership Implementation

Applications for ORT SA CAPE ECD Learnership are open throughout the year. Submit your application to 370B Main Road Observatory 7925 either by hand or post.

Next, you will have to wait for at least three weeks to get your results. The committee board will notify you of the results via your application’s phone number or email address. Next, you will interview at one of the institution’s available ECD centres.

Once you have gone through all the phases, you will immediately begin your learnership.
